Dave’s work is relevant to all types of organizations. His framework and methods are much sought after and he consults with Global Organizations across sectors such as Finance, Mining, Aerospace, Software, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Telecom, Government, Armed Forces, Multilateral Agencies and Education. His methods have addressed complex issues at Strategic Level as well as Execution level.
Cynefin Framework is a practical Decision Making Framework that can be used
- at Strategic level (C-Level) and Methods for use at Execution level and organization development
- to develop ‘Human Sensor network’ of employees, customers and other stakeholders for early detection of ‘Weak Signals’
During his visit to Mumbai Dave Snowden conducted select 3 hour sessions on ‘Strategic Framework for a Resilient Organization’. The sessions were about developing approaches that allow organizations to absorb uncertainty, create resilience and detect weak signals which more conventional approaches would ignore.
Every 2 decades or so, there is a quantum leap in Management Thought and Practice- Scientific Management made way for Systems Thinking. ‘Systems Thinking’ is now making its way for ‘Complexity Thinking’ to deal with the complex business ecology, which many describe as VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous).
The event also saw the release of a ‘white paper’ on Behavioural Change and Open Defecation Free Villages” by Anagha Mahajani, General Manager, Ambuja Cement Foundation and Devashish Dass, Director, Idobro Impact Solutions.
The workshop was attended by senior professionals from government, international NGOs, academia and corporate houses. The new age thinking method and approach was highly appreciated, especially at a time when India is looking towards path-breaking changes in approach by the government with projects like ‘Swach Bharat Abhyaan’.
