Idobro is excited to announce the launch of Season 6 of the popular recipe contest “Meri Poushtik Rasoi”, an initiative by the Glenmark Foundation.

The pan India “Meri Poushtik Rasoi” cooking contest was initiated in 2018 as a part of Glenmark Foundations 360-degree approach to address the issue of malnutrition. It was introduced with the aim of identifying, collating and appreciating the nutrition rich native recipes that we have in our Indian cuisine. These can offer a very potent answer to curb malnutrition at a community level both in urban and rural areas using local and traditional ingredients, methods and knowledge.

The Meri Poushtik Rasoi movement aims to fight malnutrition by promoting the use of traditional, nutritious, and indigenous ingredients. The contest is open to people from all walks of life, across India, who wish to contribute to the cause of promoting food and nutrition that can influence positive food habits.

This multi-stakeholder initiative has two objectives :

  • Firstly, to create a repository of indigenous, locally relevant, and nutritious recipes.
  • Secondly, to raise awareness about the issue of malnutrition in both urban and rural settings.

We believe that through this initiative, we can create a positive impact on society and contribute to the betterment of the health and wellbeing of our fellow citizens.

About Glenmark Foundation

Instituted around the theme of ‘Healthier Children, Healthier World’, Glenmark Foundation, the CSR arm of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, is actively working towards improving child health and reducing Infant/Child Mortality. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), new-borns face the highest risk of dying within a few days of birth. Majority of these children can be saved by access to simple and affordable intervention. Almost half the number of early infant and child mortality incidents is caused by malnutrition. A few years ago, we conducted a detailed research in the field of child health and the key findings of the research directed us to initiate Project ‘Kavach’ which is our flagship CSR program. The word ‘Kavach’ means a shield and symbolizes protection.

Through our various interventions launched along with our NGO partners, we aim at encouraging a positive health seeking behaviour among pregnant women and mothers with infants, and caregivers towards right nutrition including – good hygiene practices and ensuring complete immunization for children. We have been able to positively impact over 22,00,000 lives through our various child health initiatives over the years
